Moravské potravinářské strojírny (Mopos), which is a top producer of equipment for bakeries and malting houses, saw a drop in profits in spite of higher revenue in 2012. The company has had a long-term focus on modernising production.

According to Polish daily Rzeczpospolita, Polish coal trader Weglokoks might purchase the Svoboda coking plant. This is owned by the Czech group New World Resources (NWR), which is struggling with falling prices and demand.

Pegas Nonwovens from Znojmo, one of Europe’s leading non-woven textile producers, has started up production in a new factory near Cairo. It has established a subsidiary in Egypt for the investment worth 1.5 billion CZK.

Aircraft producer Aircraft Industries from Kunovice would like to break into Indonesia, India and other new markets with its newly equipped L 410 UVP-E20 aircraft. It is also working on the development of a further uprated version.

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech in Nošovice is to pay a dividend to its parent company for the first time. It will be sending 605 million out of the seven billion CZK which it earned last year. The balance of the profit will remain undistributed.
