The Ministry of the Environment and the State Environment fund have set aside a billion CZK for the purchase of CNG municipal buses and the construction of the necessary filling stations. Most of the grant will go to the Moravia-Silesia region.

The Swiss company Panalpina, belonging to one of the leading global solutions providers, is to open a service centre in Prague for its customers from Europe and the Middle East. It is to recruit 50 people by the end of the year.

Czech Railways is to invest 182 million CZK in updating and improving 26 express carriages. This year the Czech railway operator is preparing to pay a total of roughly six billion CZK for some 150 entirely new or modernised carriages.

In 2012 Český Aeroholding (ČAH), active in air transport and related ground services, reported a gross operating profit of 2.6 billion CZK. Its revenues totalled 11.8 billion CZK. These are results of successful restructuring in particular.

The Supervisory Board of Czech Railways (ČD) has approved the purchase of a further eight Railjet sets for 2.8 billion CZK from Siemens. The purchase without tender proceedings is being criticised by Škoda Transportation.

The rescue of the railway cargo operator ČD Cargo has been complicated by the Railway Authority, which has cancelled the discount on the use of tracks for individual cargoes. This results from a complaint made by the company AWT.

Prague City Transport is to receive a guarantee from the city on an eight-billion CZK bill of exchange for the purchase of tram sets. Signing of the contract was approved by Prague representatives, the city council had voted on it earlier.
