Laufen CZ, a leading producer of bathrooms and sanitary ware, reported turnover of 1.88 billion CZK in 2012, a year-on-year increase of 8.8 per cent. This is mainly due to exports to countries in the Middle East and Asia.

Prague is to reconstruct its central water processing unit on Císařský ostrov. The city council has already approved a new water link at a cost of 5.8 billion CZK. It will be paid for by water and sewage charges and from the city budget.

Chemoprojekt has won an order to modernise urea production equipment at the Azomures factory in Romania. Modernisation of the facility in the town of Tirgu Mureš is to cost the equivalent of nearly two billion CZK.

The industrial park in Cheb will start to expand in the autumn. A further 30 hectares will be added in the second phase of the project. Investment in land and utility networks will cost the city some 40 million CZK. A third phase is planned.

PPF Real Estate from the PPF group of Czech businessman Petr Kellner is planning to procure property worth 3.6 billion CZK in the Netherlands. The deal with AXA Real Estate is for six office buildings and a shopping centre.

The Starwood Capital Group has bought The Park, an office building complex by the D1 motorway to the south of Prague. The price of the deal has not been revealed, but it is the largest sale of buildings of this type in the Czech Republic.

Electrical engineering company Eaton has begun construction of an innovation centre in Roztoky u Prahy. The building, whose value, including equipment, will be of the order of tens of millions of dollars, should be ready at the beginning of 2015.
