Most contracts in the state-owned Lesy ČR (LČR) tender on units left by bankrupt Less & Forest have been won by the Uniles company of the Agrofert group owned by businessman Andrej Babiš. Of the 32 units being bid for, Uniles won eight.

The agricultural company AGRO Jevišovice remains profitable. Since 2011, when it joined the Agrofert holding, the company has reported increasing profits. Its growing revenues are the result of successful restructuring in particular.

The state-owned Lesy České republiky (LČR) launched a five-year tender for timber sales and forestry work for the 2014-2018 period. The contract is divided into 31 territorial units and has a total value of some 2.84 billion CZK.

The Ministry of Agriculture has approved the rules for a further round of the Countryside Development Programme. More than a billion CZK is available. Applicants from Prague will now be entitled to apply for support.

The consolidated profit of billionaire Andrej Babiš's Agrofert group last year fell to six billion CZK. However, the group still plans to go ahead with its investment projects worth over nine billion CZK in 2013.

The Agrofert Holding company of Andrej Babiš may buy four agricultural companies in the Cheb region from the MAVEX group. The acquisition was granted permission unconditionally by the Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS).

A new company AGF Food Logistics from the Agrofert Holding of businessman Andreje Babiš is to enter the road haulage market. The new company will take over all freight activities from most of the food companies in the group.
